William N. Scherer, Jr.
Education: I graduated from Severna Park High School in 1962, earned a B.A. degree cum laude from Thiel College in 1966 and graduated from The University of Maryland School of Law in 1970 where I earned my J.D. degree.
Fields of Practice: I concentrate my practice in real estate closings and contract negotiations, wills, powers of attorney, and living wills, living trusts, estate probate and personal income tax preparation.
Bar Admissions: I was admitted to the bar of the Maryland Court of Appeals in December 1970 and to The United States Supreme Court in 1975.
Location of Practice: Although I am licensed to practice throughout the entire state of Maryland, ninety-nine percent of my practice is located in the Baltimore metropolitan area, including Anne Arundel County (the county in which my offices are located), Baltimore City, Baltimore County, Carroll County, Harford County, Howard County, and Queen Anne's County.
Banks and Lenders: I am an approved attorney for The Glen Burnie Mutual Savings Bank, The Bank of Glen Burnie, and virtually every major lender and bank in the Baltimore-Washington-Annapolis Corridor.
Experience: Almost from the beginning, I have limited my practice to real estate, wills, probate and personal income tax preparation. I do not handle any type of litigation and that frees my time to be more available to my clients in my office.
My will practice is primarily directed to people of modest means who are trying to protect their assets for the benefit of their family.
I have been preparing personal income taxes since 1966.
The Firm Name: David R. Cuttler was my partner until his untimely death in 1986. David was a friend first and a partner second; and I have maintained the firm name as a memorial to him.
In addition to my principal office in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, I maintain a satellite office at my home in Pasadena, Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
